Early Morning Surprise Proposal at Lake Kawaguchiko – Victor & Jess with Mount Fuji Views
Lake Kawaguchiko is a heavenly place that leaves anyone who visits, speechless. It leaves you breathless even in the morning hours. The world around is still sleeping, the lake The world hasn’t quite woken up, the lake lies still, and Mount Fuji, if you’re lucky, emerges from her veil of clouds like a dream.
For Victor & Jess, that dream came true. As their Mount Fuji proposal photographer, I was thrilled and honored to be part of such a beautiful, pure, and tender moment with the backdrop of the most iconic image in Japan.

Surprise Proposal in Hakone – Matt & Teresa
There is something that is quite magical about a surprise proposal in Hakone. The moment is emotional and is filled with quiet and candid moments.
As a Hakone proposal photographer, I have photographed more than a handful of beautiful moments around Mount Fuji, yet the story of Matt and Teresa stands as one of the most emotional experiences I have had.
What happened instead was something much more memorable: a sheer display of emotion, a bright orange torii gate over the lake, and a real connection between two people as they start their new phase in life.

Summer Evening Surprise Proposal in Kyoto – Khari & Briana
As a Kyoto proposal photographer, I often get to witness some of the most heartfelt and life-changing moments in people’s lives. Khari and Briana’s evening in Kyoto was one of those occasions, a carefully planned surprise proposal that unfolded under the gentle glow of lanterns, in one of the most iconic districts in Japan.
They had travelled to Japan for a summer getaway, exploring Tokyo, Osaka, and finally, Kyoto. For Khari, the last stop was always meant to be more than sightseeing. He had been quietly carrying a ring, waiting for just the right time and place. After discussing ideas in secret, we planned the perfect location — the quiet streets of Gion, with the magnificent Yasaka Pagoda rising in the background.

Summer Surprise Proposal in Kyoto – Janelle & Graham at Daigoji & Gion
As a Kyoto proposal photographer, some of the most moving stories I have the privilege to capture are the quiet, intentional proposals that unfold in intimate corners of this historic city. Janelle and Graham’s surprise proposal session in late May was one such story—a private, elegant celebration of love set across two of Kyoto’s most iconic locations: Daigoji Temple and Gion.
Late spring was turning to summer, and Kyoto’s golden light filtered through warm breezes and leafy temple paths. The weather was ideal—warm, but manageable—and the timing of the session ensured that we experienced the soft transitions from afternoon clarity to golden hour glow. Janelle and Graham, visiting from abroad, chose to dress formally, a decision that elevated the sophistication and timelessness of their images.

Autumn Engagement Photo shoot in Nagoya – Michelle & Tom
Engagement photography captures the purest emotions of love and excitement for the journey ahead. As a local Nagoya engagement photographer, I've had the pleasure of capturing countless love stories against Nagoya's scenic backdrops, but Michelle and Tom’s autumn engagement photoshoot was truly magical.
Michelle and Tom, a charming couple from Hong Kong, chose Nagoya for their prewedding photography. Drawn to the serene beauty of Japan’s autumn, they envisioned an intimate, quiet session enveloped in golden-hour magic. Shirotori Garden became our chosen location, offering a perfect harmony of nature and tranquility, ideal for capturing heartfelt moments.

Rooftop Surprise Proposal at Park Hyatt Kyoto – Clara & Alex
Being a Kyoto proposal photographer, it is a rare moment when a love story comes to life in front of your camera amidst the everlasting beauty of this old city. Clara & Alex’s Park Hyatt Kyoto proposal was a combination of intimacy, luxury, and culture, but all these were dusted with the sweet dazzle of late afternoon radiance.
It was not merely a proposal but an experience distilled in the land of Kyoto, with the traditional Yasaka Pagoda guarding the moment like a silent blessing.
