Pre-wedding photography in Kyoto, Tokyo, Mount Fuji & across Japan

A pre-wedding session in Japan is a private portrait shoot in your wedding attire, set somewhere that matters to you, before or apart from the wedding day. I photograph pre-wedding sessions in Kyoto, Tokyo, Mount Fuji and across Japan, with collections from ¥325,000 (approx. $2,000). Travel is included for Kyoto, Nara, Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya.

Hello, I’m Sofia Hiramatsu, a photographer based in Japan. I have photographed couples since 2014, on film and digital, and my work has been featured in British Vogue. My approach is docu-editorial: relaxed direction, real moments and a finish that feels timeless.

Photographed in Kyoto

Temple gardens, moss-lined paths and wooden machiya streets. Daigo-ji, with its five-storey pagoda and red bridge over a still pond, is a favourite for its quiet. Autumn colour peaks from mid-November to early December.

Photographed in Tokyo

Shrines, hidden gardens and backstreets, with early starts for the quietest light.

Photographed at Mount Fuji

Lakeside mornings and open fields beneath the mountain, at their clearest from autumn into winter. Somewhere else in mind? Tell us the place and we will scout it.
